All Ireland Radio Takeover

Well this is new and fancy isn't it. Want to know more?

We touched on this at our EGM in week one and now we are here to fill you in some more. On March 2nd DCUfm will host the first ALL IRELAND STUDENT RADIO TAKEOVER. The idea is simple, loads of college radio stations from around the country come to DCU and together broadcast an uber schedule of student music, discussion, news and ultimate craic! A handful of student radio stations are on board already and this is going to be a great event.

All participants will be broken up into teams with at least a member from each student radio station on each team and given a time to broadcast. The teams will plan their show and broadcast together from the DCUfm studio situated in the Hub. Along with the stream being available on our iPhone App and on dcufm.com , the plan is for all the other stations to relay the stream on their platforms.

This gives student radio in Ireland one of the biggest potential audiences EVER. Its going to be a great event and we hope to get loads of exposure. If you have any ideas or can help us out with this one email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with AISRTO in the subject line puhlease.

belfast, BELFAST

Come Join, MPS in Belfast from the 7th to the 10th of November for some unreal banter!

We'll be checking out BBC NI to see how things work there. We'll be hitting up another student radio station hopefully to see how our competitors manage to compete with us and we'll be doing loads loads more.

The days will be full of media related interesting, exciting and banterful banter... and the nights? Well lets just say they will be unreal craic also. We're thinking charades, scrabble and some of you lucky members will get a chance to play boggle at midnight. (The last sentence in orange may be a lie)

We'll most definitely be checking out the nightlife in the capital of Northern Ireland, and with the MTV Europe Music Awards finishing up just as we arrive on the scene there should be some atmosphere, and sure who knows, you might even get the shift.

MPS promote safe shifting and would like to point out that inter-MPS-member shifting may results in awkward moments and no stop slagging.

So that's it!

Head to C115 on Wednesday 26th with €20 euro deposit in your hand or fanny pack and secure your place! The over all cost of the trip will only be a few more euro on top of your deposit so don't worry too much about price. We'll let you know the full cost in due course.
